Bluto, the German Shepherd

BlutoI want to share my story of BLUTO. Our Beloved, Beautiful, Precious, Splendid, Sweet Loving German Shepherd, a Gift From God. It's a sad story but also a Miracle on what the AMC was able to do for him.

Due to Kidney Disease/Failure, the AMC was able to perform Dialysis on Bluto 2x's & then later 3x's a week for approx. 9 months from May 2009- March 2010. Bluto eventually developed a bad case of Osteo-Mylyites (bone-infection) which left him with a fragile left hip and very high unresolved fever. And he was also in alot of pain and had difficulty in standing and walking with a risk of breaking his left rear leg. We thought it would now be way too much for him to endure having both Osteo-Mylyites and bad kidneys with ongoing never ending dialysis. We decided to put him to sleep to end his suffering on March 5th 2010.

I want to tell everyone who reads this how great, wonderful, and caring everyone is at the AMC. I give many thanks to the dialysis team: Dr. Langston, Dr. Chalhoub, Karen Poeppel, Ella Mitelberg and everyone else who cared for Bluto not mentioned. I miss Bluto terribly. Even though he's left us us way too soon and way too young, I hope I will see him again someday in Heaven!!
