Dr. Farrelly, the only board certified radiation oncologist treating animals in New York City, oversees the use of The AMC's newly installed linear accelerator (LINAC). The LINAC uses Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), a high intensity radiation treatment which can be focused on tumor tissue while sparing surrounding healthy tissue. Dr. Farrelly has published several papers on the use of radiation in the treatment of mast cell tumors and melanoma.
