Gastroenterology includes diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, liver and pancreas. Our specialists utilize small, flexible scopes to perform esophagoscopy, gastroscopy and colonoscopy-techniques used to diagnose, biopsy and help manage esophageal, stomach and inflammatory bowel diseases. Foreign bodies are frequently removed using these minimally invasive procedures as well.

Endocrinology involves diseases of the thyroid, pancreas and adrenal glands. Common conditions include diabetes mellitus, thyroid diseases (hyper and hypothyroidism) and adrenal gland disorders (Cushing's and Addison's disease).

Nephrology includes management of acute and chronic kidney disease. Kidney status is assessed by means of non-invasive diagnostic ultrasound, biopsies, clinical pathology tests and other imaging techniques. Treatments include medical management and in some cases, hemodialysis.

Hematology involves treatment of blood disorders caused by immune diseases, infectious agents, cancer and congenital conditions. Medical therapies as well as blood transfusion therapies are often life saving.

Respiratory Medicine includes diagnosis and management of diseases of the head and neck, nasal area, airways and lungs. To readily diagnose conditions that result in coughing, wheezing, nasal discharge and thoracic fluid accumulation, specialists employ non-invasive diagnostic imaging techniques including diagnostic ultrasound, x-ray films, CT, cytology and blood tests. Whenever possible, minimally invasive tests are performed including bronchoscopy and rhinoscopy. Management of chronic large airway disease coughing ranges from medical management to placement of tracheal stents.
