DEPARTMENT: General Services
POSITION: Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITY: Prepare weekly work schedules. Determine priorities and plan/monitor work assignments and duties of each employee. Develop forms to monitor daily duties; Prepare biweekly time sheets and develop holiday schedule. Write employee evaluations. Prepare weekly reports for discussion with manager re employee related issues. Work evening and weekend shifts when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Word, Powerpoint and Excel. Read and understand signs and labels written in English. Must have at least 5 years experience in janitorial services. Must be flexible, able to multi-task and work with minimal supervision. Be able to operate tools and equipment used in janitorial work, and have knowledge of proper use/care/cleaning of equipment. Knowledge of OSHA requirements and good oral/written communication skills necessary. HS or GED preferred or janitorial service certificate of education.
FULL TIME SHIFT: 35 hour work week with two days off to be determined
Evening hours when necessary
SALARY: $38,500-$40,00 |

DEPARTMENT: General Services
POSITION: Laundry Coordinator/ Admin. Clerk
RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for providing service and maintaining accountability for uniforms, including review of invoices and tracking slips for payment of bills; operate laundry equipment (washer and dryer); distribute uniforms and lab coats to staff; receive and stock laundry from outside cleaner; inventory lab coats for outside pickup; pick up laundry from various areas of facility; record keeping; order and stock department supplies; disburse and monitor cleaning equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have an outgoing personality as well as good oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with employees at all levels. Knowledge of laundry procedures helpful, but will train the right person. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Power Point. Good organizational skills, and able to work with minimal supervision.
FULL TIME SHIFT 35 hour work week with two days off (days off will vary)

DEPARTMENT: Medicine Department, Nephrology, Hematology Service
POSITION: Veterinary Technician
RESPONSIBIITIES:
- Perform dialysis treatments
- Provide assistance in placing dialysis catheters
- Maintain dialysis facilities
- Provide nursing care of dialysis patients as needed (dialysis catheter care, changing IV catheters and bandages, checking blood pressure UCS care, etc.)
- Update and maintain medical and dialysis records, in both computerized and written format, to improve patient care and clinical research
- Be available at least 1/3 of the time on an on-call schedule for dialysis emergencies
- Be flexible with regard to scheduled work hours to meet the needs of dialysis unit
- Answer informational calls about the hemodialysis unit and assist in client communications for dialysis patients
- Assist with medical procedures (cystourethrogram, TTW, etc.)
- Perform medical procedures appropriate to technician license (blood pressure measurements, urine collection, etc.)
- Assist in outpatient clinics
- Communicate with clients via telephone and e-mail
- Assist transfusion service (collecting blood, cross matching, blood typing) when needed
Perform similar duties in other areas of the Medicine Department as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have NYS Veterinary Technician license (or permit); must have animal handling and restraint experience. Experience with anesthesia preferred, but will train motivated individual. Must be an excellent team player able to work in stressful and emergency situations and must be flexible to cover time off for colleagues.

DEPARTMENT: Medicine, Cardiology Service
POSITION: Veterinary Technician
RESPONSIBIITIES:
- Perform venipunctures and place intravenous catheters for chemotherapy and anesthetic administration
- Manage inventory of equipment used for cardiac catheterization: track catheter equipment and place orders for equipment when necessary
- Clean and stock the Echocardiography area
- Perform and record STAT blood tests
- Assist doctors in maintaining accurate medical records, including charges
- Complete paperwork neatly and correctly
- Call/e-mail clients and referral veterinarians with patient updates
- Act as a liaison and expediter to other departments (surgery, dispensary, cashiers and radiology) to facilitate treatment
- Admit and discharge patients as requested
- Facilitate procedures for patients ie CT scan, MRI, ultrasound, biopsies, bone marrow aspirates, feeding tube placement, which may require providing tranquilization or anesthesia
- Assist with client communication including: client education and discharge instructions, prescription questions and refills, follow up calls to clients
- Perform similar duties in other areas of the Medicine Department as assigned

DEPARTMENT: Surgery Prep
POSITION: Veterinary Technician
RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for assisting DVMs with patient care for surgical patients (which may also include dentistry and ophthalmology), including induction, monitoring, restraint, lifting and recovery of patients; responsible for ordering and maintaining ophthalmology equipment and coordinating with ophthalmology any special orders they need, troubleshoot, operate and care for equipment such as ECG, BP monitors, cautery units, dopplers, etc; make up surgical packs, maintain inventory, work in either Prep or OR as assigned, will be responsible for H2O2 sterilization as part of the technician pool, may be crossed trained in endoscopy when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have NYS Veterinary technician license or permit if technician, must have animal handling experience. Experience working in surgery preferred, but will train motivated individual. Must be an excellent team worker who thrives working in stressful and emergency situations and is flexible about working additional hours when workload requires it.

DEPARTMENT:Surgery/Rehab
POSITION: Animal Aide
RESPONSIBILITY: Assist with rehabilitation therapy for in-and out-patient care; transport patients from wards to and from unit; help with therapeutic treatments including lifting, exercising, massage and hot packing; help with swimming patients in tub/treadmill; help with ultrasound therapy, heat and cold therapy, laser treatments; dry patients at conclusion of therapy, which may include use of high-powered and or cage dryer; do all laundry for the unit several times daily; mop, sweep and clean unit and equipment; release pets to owners at conclusion of therapy; complete rehabilitation checklist with supervisor each day; order and retrieve supplies; additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to lift 50 pounds; animal handling experience preferred but will train motivated individual. Must be an excellent team worker, and be able to communicate effectively with clients and co-workers.

POSITION: Prep Aide
RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for assisting DVMs and technicians with patient care for surgical patients, including restraint, lifting and recovery of patients; clean, pack, and sterilize instruments and equipment, maintain inventory, restock Prep and OR’s, will be responsible for the complete, detailed, heavy cleaning of OR’s, Prep and recovery. Assist with care of, restraining, and lifting animals, including clinic cases, emergency surgery and CPR on the evening shift. Assist in care and monitoring of recovering patients; care and maintenance of all anesthesia machines, do H 2O 2 sterilization as needed and any other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have animal handling experience, prefer experience in surgery but will train motivated individual. Must be an excellent team worker and enjoy working in stressful and emergency situations. Must be flexible about working additional hours when workload requires it. Must be able to work independently
FULL TIME SHIFT Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
Days off: Saturday, Sunday |
