Licensed Veterinary Technicians, Experienced in Surgery/Anesthesia
Summary
Assist veterinarians in the Surgery Department in providing superior client service and patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of patient care from admission through discharge.
- Provide anesthesia support for all AMC services.
- Train in anesthesia as well as dentistry, operating room, neurology, recovery and general surgical patient care.
- Train in care and use of surgical and anesthetic equipment.
- Maintain inventory and a clean work environment.
Qualifications:
- NYS Veterinary Technician’s license or permit
- Animal handling experience
- Experienced in surgical nursing and anesthesia.
- Able to work successfully as part of a team and autonomously
- Ability to remain composed in stressful and emergency situations
- Flexible about working additional hours when necessary
- Advanced anesthesia skill set, and awareness of tasks associated with a critical and emergent anesthesia procedure
- Ability to lead and act autonomously during a crisis
- Capable of crash medicine and resuscitation
Shift:
Shifts will vary based on assignments and the needs of the department.
