Licensed Veterinary Technician

Perform rehabilitation treatments, follow patient progress and work closely with rehabilitation staff members on various other duties


  • NYS Veterinary Technician’s license (or permit)
  • Ability to handle and restrain all species of animal
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Work successfully as part of a team, interacting successfully with clients and co-workers
  • Must have ability to follow detailed directions and established protocols as well as work independently and proactively
  • Bend or kneel when helping with patient restraint and not mind getting wet
  • Basic computer skills and be able to correctly complete all necessary paperwork
  • Must have flexibility necessary to work weekends and additional hours as needed
  • CCRP (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner) or CCRVN (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinary Nurse) or certification in progress


  • Rehabilitation treatments including land-based exercises, hydrotherapy treatments (swimming and underwater treadmill), land treadmill, massage, hot/cold therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, Class 3b and Class IV laser therapy, pulsed electromagnetic field therapy, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, and other customized rehabilitation treatments
  • Communicate professionally with clients, veterinarians, and co-workers
  • Keep neat, concise, timely and accurate records of patient treatment progress and charges
  • Assist in planning, performing and tailoring treatments according to patient needs
  • Prepare, induce and monitor patients during rehabilitation sedation procedures
  • Review and demonstrate home exercises after treatments and on discharge for hospitalized patients
  • Maintain the cleanliness of unit
  •  Order and stock supplies as necessary
  • All other related duties as assigned
