Match

04/24/2008 - 10/17/2017

I got Match from ASPCA, when he was two years old. He was very curious when the kind lady there let him out of the cage, and he let me hold him, and thus our fates were sealed. He was my first pet.

For seven and a half years he was my daily source of love and joy, a chin to scratch, a forehead to kiss, a sleeping, breathing pillow of fluff between my keyboard and monitor, a greeter at the door, and so so much more. He’d snuggle and purr next to me in bed, sleep in my lap, keep me company when I eat or watch TV. He would also acrobatically catch pieces of isolated wire thrown over his head, and perform many other athletic feats. He loved to be petted while he ate, he would wait for me in front of the kitchen until I followed him to the food bowls. Loved licking edges of plastic salad containers, I always wondered what chemical is there.

Sadly, at age 6 he was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and a year ago he started showing symptoms.

He was a trooper throughout and the wonderful staff at AMC helped keep him around and happy as long as we could.

Match, you will always be in my heart, I will love and miss you always for as long as I live. I know somewhere in eternity we will meet each other again. I can’t wait Mićo.
