HR Generalist

The Animal Medical Center is seeking a full time HR Generalist with its experience of continuous growth, marked by increased revenue (a plus); AMC’s major strategic initiative is to increase service delivery through building expansion and renovations which allows for an increase in staffing.  Human Resources has increased in employee relations issues, benefit management, HR metrics, reports and overall demand.  The changes in the Federal, State and Local laws that impact the workforce and human capital management continue to place increased responsibilities and demands on our department. The HR generalist will help with the everyday task and provide us with the administrative assistant needed to help meet the demands and increased responsibilities of Workforce Management.

List duties and responsibilities: (including machines to be operated)

  • Be the primary backup for HRIS-payroll processing, including; bi-weekly and semi-monthly updates to employee files, bonus/incentive pay, tracking vacation/sick pay, importing expense reimbursements, inputting exceptions, hourly employee validations, and benefit changes
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contributions to the development of policies
  • Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations
  • Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements
  • Assist in administering benefits, compensation, manuals
  • Responsible for the Administration of employee performance programs
  • Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience

List qualifications desired (including education & experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field
  • Additional HR training or experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
  • Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed
  • Proven experience working in an HR department
  • Natural interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong detail-oriented and resourceful mindset
  • Knowledge of ADP-Workforce Now a plus
  • Knowledge of HR federal laws and regulations
