Compassionate and Collaborative Care at the World’s Largest Non-Profit Animal Hospital

The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center’s commitment to compassionate and pioneering veterinary care dates back to 1910 when it was founded as a clinic to help animals whose owners could not afford treatment. We continue this this legacy today as the world’s largest non-profit animal hospital and the premier veterinary hospital in the tri-state area, maintaining the only Level 1 Trauma Center in New York City and the highest standards of care as part of our American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accreditation. Being a Diagnostic Imaging Technician at AMC

The Diagnostic Imaging and Radiology Service is critical to the lifesaving work we do at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, providing timely diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment planning of diseases in companion animals. As a Diagnostic Imaging technician, you’ll operate our computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines to obtain quality images for our radiologists and other board-certified specialists across the hospital.

Diagnostic Imaging technicians work together as a team to provide the highest quality care to our patients. While one technician is scanning and capturing images, another technician functions as a primary anesthetist and monitors the patient. Our technicians are excellent communicators and collaborators who work with multiple departments at AMC and coordinate multiple imaging procedures each day. We also occasionally get special visitors from local zoos and aquariums that require our advanced imaging services to better help the animals in their care.
