Treatment of Extrahepatic Biliary Duct Obstruction (EHBDO) in dogs and cats by Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) with biliary stent placement or the use of a rescue Subcutaneous Intestinal Biliary Bypass Device (SIBB)

Purpose

Obstruction of the bile duct is a serious condition that has been difficult to manage. Recently, a novel approach has been developed that avoids abdominal surgery for this disease.

In this study researchers will investigate the therapeutic value and effectiveness of a minimally invasive procedure called endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic biliary stenting, used to treat bile duct obstruction.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this study, patients are required to undergo medical examination to assess the suitability of each patient for this procedure.
