Dr. Alejandro Mendez is a veterinarian born and raised in Puerto Rico. He earned his veterinary degree from St. George’s University and completed his clinical year at the University of Georgia.

Following graduation, Dr. Mendez completed a rotating internship at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center in New York City. He then returned to Puerto Rico, where he practiced at a high-volume, 24/7 emergency hospital, gaining extensive experience in emergency and critical critical care as well as emergency surgical procedures.

In 2021, Dr. Mendez returned to the Animal Medical Center, where he currently serves as a staff veterinarian. He values the hospital’s collaborative environment and commitment to advanced patient care, with clinical interests in emergency medicine. He is also passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of veterinarians.
