Amanda LaRose,

DVM
Role: Resident in Cardiology Department: Cardiology
Dr. Amanda La Rose of the Animal Medical Center in New York City

Dr. Amanda LaRose is happy to be back in the tristate area to pursue a residency in cardiology. A native of New Jersey, Dr. LaRose completed her bachelor’s in arts at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY in 2010. She briefly worked as a zoo keeper at a small zoo in New Jersey prior to starting veterinary school at St. George’s University, Grenada, West Indies. Her education brought her back to the states for her clinical year at North Carolina State University. Upon graduation in 2015, Amanda completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists (Tinton Falls, NJ) and stayed on as an emergency clinician. Dr. LaRose moved to Columbus, Ohio in 2017 after being offered a position as a facility veterinarian at QTest Labs, LLC. She became a staff scientist and worked with small pharmaceutical companies to provide cardiovascular and safety data for pre-clinical heart failure testing. She considers her work at QTest one of the most rewarding as she was able to use her veterinary degree to contribute to the One Health Initiative. Dr. LaRose is excited to be back in the clinic and her main interests include quality of life and palliative care in advanced heart failure patients. When she is not in the clinic, Dr. LaRose enjoys life in Jersey City with her boyfriend and their two dogs Mace and Dexter.
