Jennifer Huck,
DVM, DACVS-SASpecialist in Surgery Department: Surgical Oncology

A native of the Boston area, Dr. Jennifer Huck moved to the Midwest to attend veterinary school at The Ohio State University. After graduating with a DVM degree in 2006, she pursued a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship at Michigan State University. Following the completion of an internship, she moved to Philadelphia to pursue a year-long post-doctoral research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2008, Dr. Huck started a residency in small animal surgery at Louisiana State University and completed the residency at Iowa State University in 2011.
Dr. Huck became an ACVS diplomate in 2012. After three years of clinical private practice at a busy emergency and specialty practice in New York City, Dr. Huck joined Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Small Animal Surgery. At Ross, she was able to explore her passion for teaching surgery and surgical skills to future veterinarians. In 2017, her professional path took her back to the University of Pennsylvania where, as an Associate Professor of Clinical Small Animal Surgery, she contributed to PennVet’s clinical, research, and teaching missions. While a majority of her clinical time was dedicated to Surgical Oncology, she also partnered with Dr. Lillian Aronson in the Feline Renal Transplantation program.
As a surgical oncologist, Dr. Huck strives to help owners meet their goals for their pets while delivering care that focuses on quality of life. She enjoys collaborating with other services to develop surgical and medical treatment plans tailored for each patient. When not at work, she can be found gardening, planning her next travel excursion, and spending time with her husband, two dogs, four cats, and seven chickens.
