Foster

06/15/1999 - 07/23/2015

Owner: Allison Younger

In June of 2011, I agreed to foster a senior dog named Tilin. He was an owner surrender who had been pulled from AC&C by a rescue group called K9 Kastle. I remember the day I picked him up: he seemed shy and quiet, but he jumped right into my car as if he had been in it before. I had him for about 2 weeks before realizing that this dog was made for me, so I decided to keep him and change his name to Foster.

Foster had some issues when I adopted him: he was deaf, had arthritis, some bad skin issues and had a gnarly coat, but all of that could be dealt with. He was truly the perfect dog! He respected my cat (and she appreciated that) and he was perfect around the house and in the car, where we spent plenty of time commuting to work at AMC and traveling up and down I-95.

After about 2 months, he was diagnosed with oral melanoma and given a year to a year and a half to live. I was devastated, especially since my previous dog died from Lymphoma several years earlier. Fortunately, I work in the most amazing place! After radiation treatments and the melanoma vaccine, Foster was with me for 4 FULL years before the cancer returned and eventually took his life.

I was truly blessed to have had this amazing dog in my life and he will always have a special place in my heart. Sleep in peace, little munchkin man!
