Animal Medical Center (AMC) today unveiled the transformation of its newly renovated second-floor clinic and client waiting area designed to serve an increased patient population. The nearly 5,000 square foot space will provide a centralized and state-of-the-art approach to patient care, while simultaneously creating a more comfortable client experience.

Guests in attendance at the ribbon cutting ceremony included Robert Liberman, Chairman of the Board, as well as trustees Cass Adelman, Susan Baker; Dr. Hal Folander, Laura Garner, Michael Heaner, Sherry Koplin, Elaine Langone, Neil McCarthy, Janet York, and Animal Medical Center CEO Kathryn Coyne.

“At AMC, our board-certified veterinarians utilize an integrative approach to patient care and treatment, working collaboratively across 17 different specialties,” said Kathryn Coyne, Chief Executive Officer at AMC. “With over 100 veterinarians treating nearly 200 pets each day in a 24/7 environment, the hospital’s clinic area has been redesigned to ensure our patients and clients are well cared for and comfortable during what can be a stressful time for families.”

AMC expects to treat 54,000 patient visits in 2018, a 30 percent increase since 2009. To better serve Animal Medical Center’s growing patient population, the modern space features a fully renovated waiting area with a dedicated feline section; a streamlined, central area for client check-in and check-out to optimize efficiency; and five new exam rooms, bringing the total number to 19. Clients can enjoy new, more comfortable furniture, renovated restrooms, and cell phone charging stations.

“This renovation underscores AMC’s commitment to serving the needs of our patients and clients well into the future,” said Carol Dinsmore, Chief Operating Officer at Animal Medical Center. “We are proud that this new space will further our ability to deliver the best care possible to animals.”

The project team includes Duke Beeson Architects and B&M General Renovation Inc.
