The Animal Medical Center (AMC) today announced the appointment of Michelle Friedman as Executive Director of Marketing & Communications. In this role, she will be responsible for the overall strategic development of AMC’s marketing, public relations and external communications encompassing social media, special events, branding initiatives and advertising.
“Michelle brings solid marketing and communications experience to this position, and as a member of the senior management team, she will play an integral role in driving AMC’s goals for the future,” said Kathryn Coyne, AMC’s Chief Executive Officer. “I am confident that Michelle’s knowledge, passion and expertise will positively impact the AMC’s long-term growth.”
A senior marketing communications professional with strong experience in creating successful, novel, multi-platform public relations and marketing programs, Ms. Friedman previously served as Account Director at Marino PR. In that capacity, she led the communications strategy and account teams for its non-profit, education, real estate and economic development clients, including NYU, New York Medical College, Big Brothers Big Sisters, DKMS, and the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Ms. Friedman has also served as Communications Director for leading non-profits, including the New York City Coalition Against Hunger (NYCCAH) and the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, she served as Press Officer for the New York State Senate Majority Press Office. Early in her career, Michelle was a reporter and writer for several political publications, including City & State, Interview Magazine, and The Chief Leader.

Ms. Friedman holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from The New School and a Bachelor of Science in Communications Studies from Boston University College of Communication.
