Prerequisites other than being a Graduate of a College of Veterinary Medicine:
Must acquire a permit or license to practice veterinary medicine in New York State and must have completed a small animal rotating medicine and surgery internship.

All applicants must be eligible to work in the US with proof of current documentation and have their NY state licensure.
Additional Information about Program
The Emergency/Critical Care (ECC) Residency Program at The Animal Medical Center (AMC) is designed to assist candidates wishing to become board certified by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC). The residency is an intense 3-year clinical training program. Over the past 10 years, the majority of individuals completing the program have become diplomates in the ACVECC.
The ECC Residency is supported by 3 board-certified specialists in Emergency and Critical Care. Additionally, the AMC houses staff veterinarians boarded in Cardiology, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Pathology, Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Dentistry. The close interaction among these various services creates an atmosphere of dynamic clinical training and experience.
