AMC’s Residency Program
The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center is the largest postgraduate veterinary teaching institution in the world, employing nearly 100 veterinarians and approximately 350 support staff. The annual caseload is close to 60,000. Our three-year specialty residency program is designed to prepare veterinarians for board certification and expertise in their chosen specialty.
AMC offers the following residencies:
- Diagnostic Imaging
- Emergency & Critical Care
- Internal Medicine
- Sports Medicine, Rehabilitation, and Integrative Medicine
The residency programs draw upon AMC’s wealth of case materials for teaching and clinical investigation.
AMC is nestled within Manhattan’s extensive biomedical community located on the Upper East Side. Residents benefit from participation and attendance at conferences, rounds, and seminars. Residents also receive the benefit of established research collaboration with several prominent institutions within easy walking distance, such as New York Hospital/Cornell University Medical College, The Rockefeller University, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
