The honorees include two senior veterinarians, Drs. Brooke Britton and Anthony J. Fischetti, and two alumni, Drs. Sally Haddock and Ann W. Lucas.

“Thank you to VMANYC for honoring the extraordinary careers of these veterinary professionals and highlighting their incredibly hard work in the field,” said Katherine Quesenberry, Chief Medical Officer at AMC. “We are proud of the accomplishments of these AMC veterinarians and their unwavering dedication to the advancement of veterinary medicine – carrying on one of the fundamental components of AMC’s mission as the world’s largest veterinary teaching hospital.”

Merit Award – Brooke Britton, DVM, DACVIM

The Merit Award recognizes a VMANYC member’s significant contributions to the association and the advancement of the veterinary profession. Prior to joining AMC’s Cancer Institute as a Senior Veterinarian in 2023, she served as the Director of Clinical Development for Veritas Veterinary Partners, a nationwide network of veterinary ER and specialty hospitals, where she spearheaded clinical training and wellness initiatives within partner practices to strategically drive medical excellence and practice growth. She has also lectured nationally, and is a peer-reviewed author, medical editor, and medical podcaster.

Outstanding Service to Veterinary Medicine – Anthony J. Fischetti, DVM, DACVR

This award recognizes a VMANYC member who has significantly contributed to the advancement and improvement of veterinary medicine in New York City through their efforts in education, research, practice, or some veterinary-related activity. Dr. Anthony Fischetti has been with AMC for nearly 20 years and currently serves as the Service Head of Diagnostic Imaging and Radiation Safety Officer. As Program Director of AMC’s Diagnostic Imaging Residency, he also oversees the teaching of over 50 interns, residents, and students each year.
