Intermittent Service Road Closures

Effective August 16th, the service road between AMC and the FDR Drive will close as needed on weekdays between 7 AM and 3:30 PM for construction, during which time cars turning onto 62nd St. will be routed directly onto the FDR Drive. Please plan accordingly.

Parking Nearby

Effective June 25th, 2021, the AMC parking lot will close due to renovations. Other nearby parking facilities include:

  • City Parking | 501 E. 61st Street | 61st between York Ave. and the FDR
  • City Parking | 425 E. 61st Street | 61st between York Ave. and 1st Ave.
  • LAZ Parking | 1113 York Avenue | York between 60th St. and 61st St.
  • SP+ Parking | 420 E. 63rd Street | 63rd St. between York and 1st Ave.

Personalized Transport - SpotOn

SpotOn offers an app based car service to transport you and your pet OR just your pet anywhere in New York City, and is a great option to get to the Animal Medical Center. AMC is pleased to offer a 15% discount on your first two rides using the Code AMC15.

Personalized Transport - Pet Chauffeur

Pet Chauffeur will transport you and your pet directly to the Animal Medical Center for a fee. To schedule a pick-up, call (212) 696-9744. In an emergency, Pet Chauffeur will provide stretchers, ramps, muzzles and cages.

Using Public Transportation

The Animal Medical Center is easily accessible by subway and is a short walk from the 59th Street station at Bloomingdale’s (where the N, R, W, 4, 5 and 6 lines all connect) or the 63rd Street station on the F and Q line. Nearby bus lines include the M98, M101, M102, M103, M31, M57, M98, Q32, Q60, and Q101. For more information, please visit the MTA website.

From Queens and Long Island

Take the Long Island Expressway to the Queensborough Bridge (59th Street Bridge) Lower Roadway. Take the exit on the right toward 1st Avenue North/FDR Drive. Turn right onto East 60th St. Turn left onto York Avenue. Turn right onto East 62nd St.

From Brooklyn

Take the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway North to the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel. Exit the tunnel and follow signs to FDR Drive North. Continue on the FDR to the 61st St. exit (on left). Turn right at the first light onto York Ave. and make a right onto 62nd St. AMC and our parking lot will be on your right.

From the Holland Tunnel

Keep to the left through the tunnel and you will arrive on Canal Street. Turn right onto Canal, and stay left. At the first light, make a left onto West Broadway and follow to Houston St. Make a right onto Houston and follow to the FDR Drive North. Turn left onto the FDR and continue north to the 61st St. exit, which is on the left. Turn right at the first light onto York Ave. and make a right onto 62nd St. AMC and our parking a lot will be on your right.

From the Lincoln Tunnel

After exiting the tunnel, follow signs for 42nd St. Turn right onto 42nd St., then turn left onto any avenue heading uptown (north). Continue heading north to 57th St. Turn right onto 57th St. and continue east until you reach Sutton Place. Turn left onto Sutton Place, which becomes York Ave., and continue for five blocks to 62nd St. Turn right on 62nd St. AMC and our parking lot will be on your right.

From the George Washington Bridge

After crossing the bridge, follow signs for Harlem River Drive/FDR Drive South. Continue on the FDR until you reach the 63rd St. exit. Turn left at the first traffic light onto York Avenue. Follow York for one block and then turn left onto 62nd St. AMC and our parking lot will be on your right.

From The Bronx & Westchester

Take the Major Deegan Expressway (87) South to the Third Avenue Bridge. Go south on the FDR Drive to the 63rd St. exit. Turn left at the first traffic light onto York Avenue. Follow York for one block and then turn left onto 62nd St. and continue to the end.  AMC and our parking lot will be on your right.
