Jennifer Colangelo,

DVM
Role: Veterinarian Department: Rotating

I grew up in the Four Corners area right on the Utah/Colorado border. I swam competitively and participated in choir in high school. I found my love for veterinary medicine during my first job at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs, CO. I went on to obtain an Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology and a Bachelor Degree in Veterinary Science with a minor in Animal Behavior from Becker College in Worcester, MA in 2018. I spent a gap year working in coat color veterinary genetics research at UC Davis and then started my veterinary education at UC Davis in 2019. I grew up in a very rural area with little access to veterinary care and have a passion for access to care and fostering the human animal bond. I love the variety of veterinary medicine but have special interests in surgery, emergency and critical care as well as zoological medicine.

I am so excited to be able to experience all that New York City and the Animal Medical Center have to offer and can’t wait to make a difference in the lives of the humans and animals that walk through AMC’s doors.

In my free time I love to cook, read, swim, hike and backpack, travel and spend time with friends, family and my orange tabby cat Rosie.
