(New York, N.Y. – October 26, 2023) The Stephen & Christine Schwarzman Animal Medical Center is proud to announce that Cardiologist Betsy Bond is the recipient of the Veterinary Medical Association of New York City’s ‘Outstanding Service to Veterinary Medicine’ award. This distinguished award recognizes individuals who through their efforts in education, research, and practice have significantly contributed to the advancement and improvement of veterinary medicine in New York State.

Dr. Betsy Bond is one of the first female Board-Certified Veterinary Cardiologists and has been practicing at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center since her internship in 1975. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University and completed both an internship and residency at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center. A veterinary specialist in cardiology at AMC for 40+ years, Dr. Bond’s only hiatus was a brief stint as an assistant professor at Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine from 1979-1981.

Irving, RN, MBA, President and Chief Executive Officer at Schwarzman AMC. “My most sincere appreciation to Dr. Bond for her remarkable service to the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center and her contributions to advancing cardiology in veterinary medicine.”

“Over the course of her four-decade career, Dr. Betsy Bond has made meaningful contributions to cardiology in veterinary medicine,” said Kathrine Quesenberry, Chief Medical Officer at Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, and President-Elect of the Veterinary Medical Association of New York City. “Dr. Bond is most deserving of this award.”

“When I heard that I was selected for the Outstanding Service Award, I was profoundly humbled,” said Dr. Betsy Bond. “I am so grateful to be part of the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center family for 40+ years and give special thanks to the Veterinary Medical Association of New York City for this special recognition.”
