Schwarzman Animal Medical Center Expands Oncology Service with Two New Board-Certified Oncologists

Drs. Renee Alsarraf and Brooke Britton Join World-Renowned Cancer Institute

(November 16, 2023 – New York, N.Y.) AMC’s Cancer Institute today announced the expansion of its Oncology Service with the appointment of two new board-certified oncologists: Dr. Renee Alsarraf, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology), and Dr. Brooke Britton, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology).

Dr. Renee Alsarraf brings extensive experience in both radiation and medical oncology to AMC. She previously served as the Head of Oncology and owner for the Animal Emergency and Referral Associates in West Caldwell, NJ, in addition to providing veterinary consulting services. Dr. Alsarraf founded the oncology practice at both AnimERge Veterinary Hospital in Raritan, NJ and Kansas City Veterinary Specialists in Kansas City, KS. Dr. Alsarraf earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine and completed a small animal rotating internship and a residency program in oncology, with additional training in radiation therapy, at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center. She is the author of Sit, Stay, Heal: What Dogs Teach Us About Living Well, which has received national and international attention.

Dr. Brooke Britton has over a decade of experience in veterinary oncology and joins AMC from Veritas Veterinary Partners in Tinton Falls, NJ where she served as Director of Clinical Development of the nationwide network of ER and multi-specialty practices. Previously Dr. Britton served as a medical oncologist at Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners in NYC. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Dr. Britton completed a rotating medical and surgical internship, and a specialty internship in oncology, at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls, NJ. She completed her residency in medical oncology at the Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital at University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.
